Rustic Industrial

Everything old is new again.....

A converted barn in France transforms into a home for this French family.
The more I age, the better I am embrasing flaws and lines of all shapes and degrees. This renovated barn is no exception to that new philosophy. A wonderful French home with the rustic touches throughout the walls, rooms and furnishings.

Vous etes belle......

The black smooth and rustic concrete cabinetry definately set off the sleek stainless and the wonderful beamed ceiling.

A more industrial chic stool and cloches filled resting on the worktop. The texture of the stone wall is a wonderful touch. Hard to imagine this is a newly built home.

Another view of this light limestone floor and the darker cabinets covered in a dark black colored concrete.
The touches of wood, stone and the stainless are wonderful. This rustic look is so appealing to me.

I am loving this doorway into the kitchen. The rough cut stone is wonderful; a rustic yet refined entry into the kitchen. A perfect mix of old & new, rought & smooth. I love the header in the wall surrounded by the smooth stone.

Imagine the climb up this stairway? The light on dark is so inviting as well as inticing for the eyes. I get a sense of peaceful and laid back feel of this space.

What a living area. With so much space; high ceilings along with the open feel of the room. The seated grouping is a mix of old and new. Sleek chair, upholstered sofa and oversized footed chair along with the rustic soffee table and a darker cocoa rug. Look up to the beamed ceiling with it's rustic feel and wood lined ceiling.

A closer view of the stacked books and clear bottles on the coffee table. A darker sleek of the bottom meets a more rustic top and is pulled together by fine touches of table top items.

Another view of the bedroom, love the tufted white chair in the corner of the room. The box window is a small but correctly placed window in this room. Plenty of sunshine to bring into the room.

I could fall asleep and have pretty good sleep in this restfull bedroom.

What a simple but color softly washed bedroom?

I like the view into the bedroom. The stone walls are so complementary to the stucco color. Dark color is also integrated into the flooring. The rustic French shutters, bistro chair are simple touches in decor and design for this home.

The dark concrete is continued in the bathroom. The tub surround is concrete, the rustic travertine shower surround  is complemented with a rustic wall plaster treatment.

Love your header, and you are very hardworking and prolific in your blogging. Incredible stairway. The only thing, and don't get me wrong, I love french country and all things old, but there needs to be more windows and light. I think, as I age, I'm growing to like modern design more and more. Who knew...

Countrypolitan;
I do like the feel of the house, renoed from a barn. That rustic feel with modern flair.

Donna;
I so understand what you are saying too! I love the overall look of the rustic, but man throw in a large metal industrial full wall window and I am also a happy girl!
I really like a lot of elements from different decor & architectural styles.
Thanks for sharing,
L.
