Percolating .....
Things have been hopping around La Maison Fou. Work is a steady thing lately, and a big fundraiser has just passed. I have a few pics for everyone. I wanted to post home tour pics but, the homeowners are also private patrons so I opted not to.
Enjoy a little peek into what I have been working on for a week or so. The first images are from the designer home tour. The secong set are from my own entry hall ( in progress ). And third is a collaboration for geography with my 12 year old son. An African mask from the BoBo tribe.
Oh yeah, it is good to be back!
A before of a baby blue baseed wall in the kiddos bath. We were going for more of a spa like feel with fluffy white towels, white waffle weave shower curtain and touches of black.
The before part of the walls, .......pre glazed Tiffany & Co; turquoise blue walls.
A new matte silver curtain rod and white fluffy cotton valance. Love this Kohler pedestal sink!
To the left is the baby blue / to the right and coming around the corner is the turquoise blue.
A peek at the "after" Tiffany blue glaze.
The after, turquoise glazed and before the new white waffle weave spa shower curtain.
A custom sign for the bath; on a thick mounted canvas with an eye chart look.
Hung on the right side of the entrance into the bath.

The before of the "light khaki" based basecoat in the master bathroom.
A wall with the RL silver transluscent glaze. The end result is a vintage "mercury glass" finish.
Great spa like shower curtain, original celedon 1920's floor tiles and high ceilings!
A little closer view before the blending.......
The final finish. A soft, luxurious shimmer with a neutral palatte. The silvered mirror complements the walls and the room. I love this look, espescially when the lights are dimmed and lit from a candle!
Very relaxing and luminess.

The "before" faux bois shelf. Fine with a neutral color, but needed a lift and lightening.
In process in the studio. Looking cleaner and fresher, but almost ready.
Cleaned up in a ceylon color and very more chic and modern.
A collection of cream orb, hotel silver footed bowl, birds eye maple box. To the left, a pair of funky tiered wooden sculptures and crystal votive.
A new addition to the magnifying glass collection; a basket weave handled mg.
An easter orchid; double blooms. An addition to the chinese calligraphy brush set. The little rose wooden carved brush. The beasket is perched on my new Pancha Tantra book, by Walton Ford.
A few new shells too.
The ever growing True religion collection. Love, love European vintage crosses!
Another view of the relics!
A concrete putti angel hanging above the relics.
Though not finished the buffet is 1/2 way finished. A far cry from it's original existance. The chippy candlesticks are worn woolen gray, chippy and peely. Also, my newly transformed lamps. The hunter scene was an old purchase; the first piece of artwork chosen by my hubby & I. A gift from our Cnadian grandparents, now gone. I found this in the closet and deceided to mix as the colors work. It also hold sentimental valur to both of us.
Another score a few weeks back; a concrete French lamb. Just peely and crusty enough to graze across my
entry hall French footed chest.
A mother of pearl dish and hinged shell boxes. The large victorian was purchased in Kansas City, the others were picked up in NYC, at a flea market. I love the mother of pearl inset shell, that one was a vintage inkwell.

Thanks Karena;
About 4 hrs away. My mother in law lives in Leavenworth, just across the way. Much military there; although they are now retired from that.
Yes, the walls really made the difference in the final finishes. I wish I had a pic of towels and everything, it was great looking.
