Work of Art

Cocktails & Conversation...

Two large parts contributing to the new Bravo series " Work of Art". A brain child of Sarah Jessica Parker, and her production company nearly a year in the works.Created at a cocktail party and discussed amongst New Yorkers before putting the ideas collected on cocktail napkins into a reality show format. Over 1,400 "artists" showed up to compete for 1 -2 spots on the show in NYC. A chance to win over $100,000 & a solo art show at The Brooklyn Museum of Art.

On June 9th , you can be the judge.

Purist? Stature? plain creativity or Art for the sake of Art?? Fame?

Is it just me or is there no form of creativity immune from an hour episode of reality television? Do you find a no holds barred approach to reality television these days?
Is nothing sacred?

Will you watch?

That is very curious that they would not comment... given that the winner is to have a showing at the museum...

I think that some very good talent has broken through to the public eye by way of some of the talent shows. But I think it is important to remember that there is a great deal of distortion from the true reality... much of which lies on the cutting room floor...

Very true Countrypolitan;
Good to keep the show in perspective.
It is understandable, there just seems to be a message that goes with the show(s) as things are so effortless and unless you have an idea, some of the talent goes unappreciated by some viewers.
Almost assembly line punched out; in some instances.
Thanks for your perspective.

I'm fairly certain by now that anything - good, bad or a total waste of time - can be turned into a "reality" show. I hadn't heard of this one but, sure, I'll take a look. Like countrypolitan says, some of these shows have been the way to legitimate success for many people so you can't really blame any of the participants for trying, especially when they have actual skill and talent.
Thanks for stopping by my "poor me" post! I really appreciate it.
Happy Thursday!
