Goodbye until next year!

School's out for summer.....

Another schoolyear comes to a close. As does the beginning of the end, one in middle school and the other a senior. Wow time flies, of course the speed is the same as years ago it is the super warp capacity that seems to be speeding up! What cute kiddos in the ageless photo.
With summer upon us, what will be the order of the day? Lots of ongoing projects to finish before fall begins, events and camps as well. When looking at next year (although I mean this year, only a new school year) change is upon me and my family. I like to embrace change and move forward with it in my life. Speaking of change; a little change is coming my way in the second living area. Progress is slow but coming along. A little inspiration for walls, shelves and media room. You would not think shelving for movies and books would be such an undertaking, just book it and be done! Right?

I like the lived in feel of this room, worn dark flooring, open shelving to the right all in one color.

This built in with papered backed shelves is also visually stunning.

These shelves from Domino magazine show a more casual approach to shelving. Also flanking either side of the fireplace.

I am also liking this skim coated plaster version of pure, simple style bookshelves.

From the Paris Apartment, a more traditional approach to bookshelves.

Paul Costello has another lived in approach to shelving, also a darker version. The pattern on the floor is equally as interesting to me.

This one I am also taken back with. I love the bottom built in cabinet and the open top shelving. This is becoming a favorite of mine.

The livingroom of Sally Wheat has always been a favorite. I do love the shutter doors to conceal items shown here.

An even more updated version by Sally Wheat are these bookshelves, like units built into the walls.

What a lovely post. To me a house is not a home without shelves and shelves of books. Enjoy your summer!

Too shay........

Books do give the house a script from which to tell the story! Thanks for stopping by!
