Cream kitchen a la carte

Order up!!

I recently finished a local kitchen that was a new build but the kitchen and powder bath was given an old soul. The homeowners are a fresh hip couple with two smaller kiddos. The kitchen cabinetry and powder bath were on my to do list. I was able to take pics from beginning to during and then the final cut at completion.
Hand scraped wood floors, travertine cut stones in the bath and arched doorways were some of the finishes in this new / Old world family home.I was there this morning to do some touch ups and get a few pics of the completed project. This newly constructed home is full of custom features and custom touches. The best part is that it is a beautiful as well as functioning home with livable touches and special finishes.

I have gone through the files and below are some pics of the kitchen before the final walk through.I had forgotten the before pictures until I revisited my files, hard to believe the last bid snowstorm of the year was when this kitchen was completed. The kitchen is pulled together, polished and is as functioning as it is presented. The clients were wonderful to work with as well; always a bonus!

Bon Appetit!!

The before of the kitchen; great bones and layout.
Open floor plan and flow into a great room / family room.Liking the turned legs incorporated into the island, and the tops of the niches are curved like the doorways in and out of the kitchen. Details, details.... I think it can really be the little things that stand out when making a statement.

Kitchen wall of granite and cream cabinetry. Fauxed and finished in Old World Style. The granite looks to be a medium tone with some flecking that coordinates with the darker hardware and flooring.

A closer look at the final finish on the lower island area.

The kitchen furnished and finished out. Great hand scraped flooring and limestone back splash in subway tile. Pulls in Old World wrought iron finish. The built in arched bookcase is built in top the center island and displays family photo opps!

A closer view of the after kitchen. I love the homeowners artwork showcased throughout the kitchen. Over the range top is a masterpiece of her son's.A closer view of the rough cut subway tiles on the back splash.Little touches of blue and white jars and planters are another color brought into the mix. On the floor is a great leopard rug for softness underfoot.

Another view of the kitchen and island top. The architectural elements are great love the range hood and built in arched nooks. A beautiful transformation from a plan to a real functioning kitchen. So different from the before stage, it really is all about combining the right elements into a plan.

Powder that nose!

A French finished vanity in the powder bath off the family room / kitchen area.I like the top of the sink that coordinates with the distressing and colors on the cabinet. Muted and softer tones while still being a statement in the powder bath.

I love the French bleu vanity with the oil rubbed bronze faucet and the rough cut limestone flooring.
Paired with a silver leafed mirror and cream wall color.Using an interesting vanity can really bring life into a bath or small guest bathroom. This option was a little carved and opulent paired with sleek and textured flooring. I like the final result together.

Another view into the powder bath from the kitchen. The rough vanity against the flooring and cream walls is the perfect sleek on distressed combination.I think that is the combo when going for a relaxed and still pulled together look of more of a modern country feel.Being able to pull new elements together but still bring a lived in and relaxed look is a planned process with the details pulling all the elements together. Not impossible to do, just takes a little planning and really works in this family home. I am a huge fan of the distressed and well worn look, especially with a growing family, pets and lots of friends and really living in a home.
