Round the house.....

Reeling with excitement!

Apartment Therapy Reel inspired vignette.

Love the look of this paneled library room, great for viewing old silver screen flicks or fast forwarding thru your fav film. Popcorn and a great place to pop your feet could be right here on this chesterfield sofa. The contrast of the green Asian coffee table really enlivens this space, adding an interesting arrangement.

This library by Alessandra Branca is upholstered cashmere walls, sofa design by Branca.
What a way to soften those surround sound walls?
Of course the mix of this room is one I could settle into, the flash of red is also a great splash of color.

This built in room with black bookshelves is really relaxing and cozy to me. I like the contrast between the floor to ceiling shelves, the flooring and the nail head trim doors in red. Reminds me of the zebra doors in Miles Redd apartment (below).

The mix as only Miles can do it!

 His apartment in Manhattan.

This living room by laura Bohn is also relaxing and still modern. I really like the movement of this artwork behind the sofa. Also the cushion is contrasting to the leather of the body of the sofa.

This M. Redd room is also pretty comfy and reeling with a deep dark tonal quality. A beautiful room featured in the late, great, Southern Accents.Another day, another topic but I have also been doing a lot of high glossed surfaces and deeper colored rooms. Could there be a movement toward a warmer, richer feel of the American family room?

This media room in a Buckhead Atlanta home has these great chaise lounge chairs and throws.
In the lower basement level, adding to the media room feel.I also like the wall of faces behind the chaise loungers. You could really sink into these loungers.

Under these eaves is a dark, lofty space with plenty of storage and style.
The mix of fabrics and design is also a acquired, relaxed feel of comfort.

Light or dark?

Many movers are gravitating toward a more lighter palate, but the accessories could be darker and more color inspired. Or are you more of a darker surrounded palate with cleaner, lighter accessories? The two are complementary of one another, and yet can also give off a completely different feeling with the pairing of furnishings and personal items.
