Collecting and Displaying

A few vignettes from Taschen Indian and Paris Interiors.

With the walk into falling temperatures and layering of clothing upon us, these images seemed appropriate for a new month and with it a new season.
A little bit of the compulsively contrived collections with a nod to Victorian collections in and out of glass encased boxes. A mix of the old, the collected and the crumbling. A juxtaposition of the vintage, the collected and the exquisitely crafted in a timeworn look and feel. A bit of the natural is brought into the mix, be it the obvious or the more organic in feel and style of a piece.
This design is styled with an understated and layered feel. Is it for everyone, probably not but the statement to mix old and new is definitely a challenging line to walk.

A natural conservatory feel with a glass pendant light, loads of sunlight!

Well stacked and sorted shelves of books, all filed into stacked bookcases and artfully arranged on top of a beautiful printed rug.

A little opulence, gilding and metallic paper pasted on these interior walls.

A crumbling facade of a fireplace, adorned with a mantle of spiritual iconography and furnished walls of drawings.

What a collection of fine large gilt framing, subtly used in the same room with a more relaxed setting and comfortable feel.
