Lost in Translation?
While looking thru my Neiman Marcus Christmas book, I was fascinated by wish lists of holidays gone by. I was searching some vintage gifts and I happened upon this story.
A love affair between men and beast.Let me take you back, the year was 1969 a couple of men were perusing thru Harrods department store. The Australian pair of John Rendall and Anthony "Ace" Bourke stumbled upon a 35 lb. lion cub for purchase. An extravagant gift, but one that was eager to be purchased as the stores carpet section had taken a beating from a midnight breakout. The lion cub, known as Christian was brought home to a flat as his new parents.
As little Christian grew, so did the need for a new home. The only answer was to reintroduce the now growing cub into the wild. The cub was reintroduced into the wild, and within a year the duo went back to check u on their baby, Christian.
The following video was taken from the story on the View; I will warn you keep a box of Kleenex or Puffs handy!
What a remarkable true story.
