They are decked!
I spent a great deal of the weekend decking the halls. The tree was trimmed, the outside lights got hung, the front of the house is holiday. What is next? The presents are in need of wrapping.
A day of hunting and gathering proved to be resourceful for the front of the house and the inside too!
Up first is the mess that actually made lemons into lemonade. I had things pretty well along. My daughters winter formal was Saturday evening and the front was looking in good shape. That was until the wind decided to swirl around and make a little more work for me.
What was left of the two tall urns on the front porch.Winds were breezy and these two urns bit the dust!
Another view of the devastation.
The far urn laying across the front porch.
A little broom & dust pan later........and
I pulled a couple of urns from the rear of the house and filled them with the curly willow branches.
The base of the urns were filled with trimmings of pine and cedar. A very fragrant entrance to the front of the house. A pine garland was draped over and across the front door. Large outdoor silver balls were hung on the garland and twisted around the base of the urns. A also had the two box woods taken from the gated area to the front. Adding a little more greenery to the facade.
Another view from the side of the porch area. The more modern front doorway sisal and stainless steel floor mat is a good contrast to the more French finished door and inspired facade. The silver orbs are also the same shape as you have on the door mat, a circular stainless pattern with sisal insert.
A little lower to the ground, and filled with some weight to avoid the next breezy day or evening.
I am glad that I had a spare pair in the backyard, with the week progressing December is on full throttle!

Still missing something, I managed to get a few items together and make a wreath for the front door.
The door seemed a little bare, even with the surrounding color of fresh greens.
A willow wreath, and some golden metallic thread.
A bunch of fresh greens. These were taken from a live tree that was given to our family one Christmas, now over 6 years ago. It is a giant......
Cluster a few sprigs together and wire to the wreath form.....
and wholah! You have a smaller custom wreath. You could even take pieces from a real tree or branches that have fallen or extra branches sometimes available at the tree lot.
Frames the doorway nicely and hung from a chocolate / and taupe ribbon(s). A double layered ribbon is casually looped around the wreath and hung in a knotted fashion.
There you go..........
Have fun and get your green on!!!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
