Honey Do's.....

We all have them right?

Old, forgotten, falling apart or simple broken.........

Darlings I am not talking about are bodies, (well, not at the moment) but those little things that we seemingly forget and give a push to the back of the room, garage or the corner of our minds. With a fresh eye on focusing toward a cluttah free and clean sweep New Year, new month..I embarked in the bitter cold yesterday along with my ever knowing and doing hubby to tackle a few of those lingering things!

A long weekend that generated a new beginning, a celebration birthday and a fixing of things BEFORE a flurry of snow dusting, I say that but as I write this the snow is still falling. Perhaps a more spreading of white stuff, but not much accumulation expected. Anyhow, a glamorous Sunday afternoon to say the least.
A threshold on the floor, squeaky and always riding up when stepped on. A leftover from tearing the living room wall out. Remember? Well it is textured, painted and awaiting a fireplace and built in bookshelves.
But today, my pup can step over it and not be freaked out when it squeaks and goes up and down.

Then there was the flapper, a very non glamorous piece of ingenuity, but none the less very, very important to all! A new flush system, and a new flapper and we are in business! Yeah. No more dreaming of Titanic when it tries to flush in the middle of the night again.

Lastly, but definitely not lastly, the threshold going into the studio. Well, lets just say builders grade did not last very long. We replaced the wooden one with metal and added metal flashing to keep the water from entering under the door. Now, when the Spring rain comes, and it always does we will be ready!
I just did not want to do it in 27* weather, but all is good, the snow is falling and the flooring is dry!

So, to cap of a weekend of imperfections turned into a better and fixed way, here are a few of my fav shots of perfection to me. Not really in any random order, just a shot or two that I like.

And, Thanks Trow! I owe you.

Enjoy!

I really have the arched roof line on my mind......

This counter is Divine, love the wrapped walls too.

Ceiling and bookcases, wow.

I am such a sucker for the old and battered mirror finish.

Not a smoker, but this vignette reminds me of my Nana's type of dressing table.

The barbed wire chandy........

Most images are from an old file, unknown sources SA ccents, NVRuralist, decor de provence......my apologies for lack of other sources.
