If you read Elle Decor, you have probably already seen these shots. I have seen other pictures of KB and her interiors. What struck me about this interior was how close this looks to my (unfinished, on the inside ceiling) STUDIO. I do have the outside finished, the interior is insulated, but to find a type of ceiling and the biggest obstacle has been the weight issue! But, looking at these pics, I am inspired and think I have worked this out, at least in my mind.
Maybe it is January, white seems fresh and clean but my interior is already a fresh white / ivory color. So, this is not completely a stretch. I also have a wainscoting X for the walls with paneled base. So, I think this will definitely be my inspiration for finishing it all in the New Year.
I am also looking to change my flooring in the kitchen. I love this brick floor. I am putting this into the final four! The mix in this kitchen is great. Old, new, shiny, dull and white brings it all together! Luv the greenery too. I use this outside, but inside would be fresh too!
How unexpected in the bath, love this cow hide print though. Of course a more durable and practical sisal is underfoot to stand the test of time. Here again, mix of high and low!
This bed is so great, the iron. Of course you know me, it would have to be natural linen or a more neutral color scheme.Though for Valentines Day coming up this would really fit the bill.
Have a fabulous Friday!

I so love brick floors. I wonder how they are to keep clean. I have Indonesian slate floors in my bedroom and master bath and they are easy to clean. The rest of the house are wood and they do require a lot of vaccuuming but I couldn't live with carpeting again. How is your little dog doing since the surgery?
Oh Donna;
You are so sweet. Mr. Derby is doing well. This past month (Dec) was a turning point. He actually was getting up on the couch by himself! A huge accomplishment! He is running outside and getting up the stairs & steps on his own! I was told it could take up to 6 months for a full recovery...I would say we are 80% there!
I have heard you can wax those brick floors...these I just love.
I am goint to be replacing my flooring and updating the kitchen..its been a while...I am trying to go for timeless and a style that will withstand the test of time!
I will keep my fingers crossed.
Thank You for asking,
Have a great weekend,
Leslie
Oh what a beautiful space. Lucky you having a ceiling like this one. I've always coveted an important ceiling like that.
I remember loving this when it was featured. Your studio sounds like it is on the path to fabulous chicness - can't wait to see the final results!
Hi Leslie..I have just awarded you the stylish blogger award..for more info check out my blog post...happy weekend..maureen
The brick floor you pictured is actually Mexican terra cotta pavers...these appear to be from the 80's...the only ones I've found available now in Atlanta have a more rounded appearance, and not as much character. I've had them in kitchen, hall, and family room for 25 years.They're easy to take care of since they're sealed, before and after installation...to refurbish, only clean and reseal. Don't ever wax, because resealing will become almost impossible. The pictured ones also looked like they'd been stained prior to sealing...go for it. Gayle
Julie;
Yes, You know how it is, first your clients, then your inside then the studio is always on the back burer.
I am though trying to put it a little up the ladder in the New Year...we will see how it goes!
