An oldie but a goodie

Not long ago one could really get a variation on many rooms in one sitting from the printed press world.
So missed by many, Domino magazine featured this home and this room in particular felt to collected, a new look at industrial, Victorian new and rustic all at the same time.
The coffee table features Damien Hurst's sheep heart sculpture, old sitting on top of the clean metal and glass table.
The chair, though Victorian is covered in modernized Johnson Hartig fabric. A little out of Africa in the flooring, great grandfathers portrait and rounded gold leafed mirror.

Since we are on the subject of Victorian, this modern yet Victorian inspired greenhouse is looking pretty good in the middle of winter months! I think I must have one of these in my lifetime.
The detailed iron on the top is just so inviting and so charming.
I think I could fill this up with many blooming things. Design amazes me daily, how some details endure the test of time, even modified the bones of influences have such deeply rooted beginnings.

Europeans are much smarter about stylish flourishes upon their roof.

What's not to love about huge stone urns atop a home?

Yes, you must have a conservatory in your life. Soon.

You are so right Tara.

I like the way they incorporate old and new not only stylishly but from the beginning of time.

I hear you, I think it MUST be soon too!

Hope you had a great New Year!
