Out of the woodwork

New flooring

A new floor was just the ticket for Bobby Kennedy Jr. & Mary Richardson Kennedy in their newly reconstructed home in Mount Kisco New York.I love the attention to detail. Old flooring boards were used and incorporated into the new structure and new square footage. Short on old and worn floorboards, the builder and master craftsman looked up three other homes scheduled for demolition and bought the flooring for $1 a foot. The boards were shipped to New York, sized and installed in the new home.

A great story, really floors you? (bad, I know)

The Michelangelo's woodworker, John Yarema's intricate wood floors consist of 1,000 of pieces of individually cut wood designed into intricate patterns.

A closer look at the oval alcove and hand stained and pieced together floor.

A masterpiece.

A detail of the in flight pieced together pattern in the border of the custom floor.

I'd have a difficult time placing furniture on those!

I would think so too!
They are so lovely, I would not want to walk on them!
