Just for fun.....
Can you guess the Pedigreed from the Newly created pup?
I have seen these pups in so many styles and types of decor. Reigning from Staffordshire, England these proper pets were created in potters studios and graced the mantles pieces of Britain's homes and castles.
These favorite canines are King Charles Cavalier spaniels, named for the British monarch Charles II.
It is said that he would let these precious pups rule the castle!
In the 1800's these figurines were made from China, hand painted and were extensively time consuming to produce. In the 20th century, mass production made these pieces more readily available and easier to obtain.
Original pieces are said to fetch $1,000 and can rise in cost according to condition and rarity.
One of the above pairs is an antique, the other is a new reproduction from Carlton Varney for HSN that's around $40.
Have a look and see if you can go on point to correctly guess which pair has papers and which pair is from a fresh new litter?
Bone China Staffordshire or porcelain made in China?
Hand painted or mass produced?
Wales origin or China imported to the U.S. ?
Now sit and stay,
I will fetch the answer this evening!
