Sunday slipcovers

Slipcovers

These are a few of my favorite things. Wash and wear, put these to the test!

A comfy type of a look and definitely family and pet friendly.

It all started with Rachel Ashwell and the shabby chic slipcovers that made slipped chic.
Shabby is so comfy, great for beach or lake homes and a lighthearted feel for a casual space. A definite favorite of mine, and many looking for that light hearted feel.

In House Beautiful these slipcovers for chairs are really French grain sack inspired slips.
These chairs are a little more tailored but offer the same great casual look.Mixing the casual with traditional pieces really works here.

Here, the space has evolved to a more industrial looking chic. The slipcovers remain, but are paired with chic colors, unique pieces and re purposed industrial goods into re purposed furnishings.
Note the aged and silvered equine art!

A sitting room with slip covered seating featured in Veranda magazine.

These moleskin book covers by black sheep and prodigal son are really interesting and wrapped with belted & buckled straps of leather.

Simply chic slipcovers, not just for seating. These are really a great alternative to the ordinary shower curtain.Great looking and could be colored or dyed to coordinate with your bathroom decor.

Who could forget this slip covered car seat of this homeowner in California beach house.
Oooh la la, the ultimate in driving.
Don't even worry about juice boxes, baseball cleats or puppy paws.

One option for my need to be recovered chairs. I was opting for a tailored look and feel but with researching further, I am thinking slipcovers will reign. These are a little more comfy and will fit into a family area a little better for my needs and look and feel.

Another look and feel from Delarosa upholstery.

This is another really good look and I like the feel of this slip covered job.

These chairs from hineman, are another adaptation to the slipcover.
I like a longer length with a slightly casual fitted drape. The big decision is a neutral color in cream or white or a darker color for family, kiddos and four legged fellow?

These are also really great, also from Delarosa.I love the band of camel color at the bottom.
Also a box pleated look at the bottom of the chair
.Don't forget to make them long enough and overstuffed with down so you sink into these chairs.

These great parson chair slips are also a great addition to this table.

Huum, ruffles or straight?

Decisions...... decisions...

This haute chic chaise slipcover really changes the piece from the original upholstery cover.
I really like the ruffles at the bottom of the piece!

Now,
I just have to make up my mind!

Can't wait to see what you choose.

Slipcovered the backseat of my little van with a vintage Scalamandre toile from Thomas Jefferson's home.

Backseat filled with antique wicker baskets holding my work tools. The wicker was pricking the seat fabric.

Right Joni?
I am holding out for the new car and the kids who drive themselves!
Then the only smudges that are made are made by me!
