Happy Haunting!

Thanks for the mention Apartment Therapy

Just a quick note to say thanks for the mention on wired industrial pieces.

Story here:

I love anything old, rusted and wired is even better.

In fact, I am working on a wastebasket turned pendant lamp for my kitchen.

More on that to come in the following months.

Until then,

Merci beaucoup!

The long weekend.

Spooky fun....

This could be quite possibly the best weekend of the year.

The temperatures seem right, there is so much going on whether it is fall festivals or Halloween Haunting Parties and events.

Holding a close second to Christmas the best part of this season is the costumes and the home decorations which can transform an original ranch into a haunted mansion with a little creativity.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Love this pic from Amy Neal in NYC, a couple pic of her and boyfriend celebrating Dia De Los Muertos. What a fun and spooky idea!

This just says autumn day, straight away.

L & S

Love the stripes and pegs

What a hoot, my daughters 2011 pumpkin creation.

A series of glittery skulls, loving these for a twist on haunting decor.

Halloween wreath in ombre stripe finished out with a scalloped ribbon and brown trim ribbon.

Invasion of the creepy crawlers....

Make no bones about it, hauntingly fun and spooky specters lurking about.

This year the house is over ran with creepy crawly creatures....

Chilling right down to the bone.

Happy Halloween and don't forget to treat the trick or treaters!

Measure twice then cut...

Cut on the dot.....

Up & out.

Wrap it up!

and carve them out.

These chevron inspired jack o lanterns from whit & whistle are truly chic.

There is still time to make these and illuminate your front porch or apartment.

Fall Break!

That perfect time of the year to escape and get away for a few dayz!

Weather permitting you might just have a fallishly good time.

One Word

Waking up to much cooler temps and chilly air in the forecast.

Remember to cover that kitchen garden and protect those fragile veggies!

Layer Up!

As fall approaches and layering seems to be the sensible way to go.

Why not layer your home as well.

Add that extra fall bouquet, throw that cozy throw on the sofa and light the candle that slowly spreads fragrance throughout you home.

Grand re tweeking....

Grand re Openings...

Last evening amidst the darkness and the cooler (?) temps there was a soiree of fall, fun and flirty fashions at Flirt.
Located within the outdoor shopping center of Utica Square.

A culmination for me as it has been around two months of transformation into the perfect boutique.

Many one of a kind designers are carried there and the jewelry and other accessories are making it one of Tulsa's best places to snag some really chic clothes.

If you live in T-Town, there are some pop the balloon savings going on until this Saturday.
Shop, enjoy the fall fashions and have a pop of a balloon to get a discount on your purchase.

Here is a little peek into the reno:

The store before.

The sign is new but touches of fuchsia are gone.

My first window display of tissue flowers on the wall and woven into a burlap top for the mannequin.

The idea, and the sketch of the color combination.

Soft lilac, gray and faded darker charcoal colors.

The exterior after.

It was great before, but a new owner and a fresh take made way for a more neutral and clean palette with a play on sleek sophisticated and trendy urban style.

The goods:

A pair of fab finds.

Pleated and boxy silver pleathered cubes.
Not quite right, but worth the transformation. This pic shows the challenge of the interior.

To this.......

The completed cube.

In place and ready to serve.

Your standard flea or tag sale find demi lune table.

Great, but again wrong for our look........

In place with a little age and wisdom on the finish.

Gray and a silver leafed accent to the turned legs and the inset carvings.

A great display board wrapped in linen and featuring lots of bauble's.

Also some great frames wrapped in linen and a vintage looking hanger display made from re purposed materials and finished in a distressed vintage french finish.

This was quite a find that went from this old lamp, yes I did say lamp!

Sort of takes you back to A Christmas Story.......

To this one of a kind bust and stand for jewelry display.

Loading up for the trip to set the store and letting the fun begin!

Ugly bathroom sink with exposed plumbing?

Just skirt that issue.

A little smoky grape color on the pony wall .........

We are almost there.

Another post with the re opening window and a couple other editions to add to the mix and new feel of the store.

Be sure to stop by say hello to Melissa,Sara & Toni and take advantage of the savings and the great fall fashions!
